Lemoti was falsely accused of robbing a vegetable vendor. The incident occurred at 5 am when the vendor was on her way to purchase goods. She claimed that Lemoti stole K50,000 ($28) and a phone. After being informed that Lemoti was the likely culprit, she reported the matter to the Police and his parents. At the time of the alleged robbery, Lemoti was working in someone’s garden as a pieceworker. Upon returning home at 2 pm, he learned about the accusations and immediately went to search for the vendor. When he discovered she was at the police station, he went there to clear his name, only to be arrested and charged. Despite denying the allegations, Lemoti was found guilty and ordered to pay a fine of K 100,000 ($55) which was supposed to be given to the vendor and the court. Lemoti faced these accusations because of his previous criminal record. When he was released from prison, Lemoti become a dedicated Christian in the community. His fine was paid by Missional Law. Now, he has been reunited with his family. Lemoti got released yesterday on 17 February 2025.
